Advocacy & Awareness Creation
Through interactive sessions, community campaigns, mentoring, and collaboration with local leaders and Ward Education Officers, we ensure communities are informed, engaged, and supportive of girls’ rights.
In Tanzania, 1 in 4 girls aged 15–19 is already pregnant or a young mother (UNICEF). Teenage pregnancies, school dropouts, and child marriages trap countless girls in cycles of poverty and stigma, especially in rural communities where access to education and healthcare is limited.
Born from lived experience, Young Strong Mothers Foundation (YSMF) was founded by Jackie Bomboma, who overcame teenage pregnancy, rejection, and abuse. Today, YSMF works to rescue, support, and empower vulnerable girls and young mothers by providing education opportunities, economic empowerment, and a voice for their rights. Our mission is simple: to give girls and young mothers a second chance to learn, thrive, and rewrite their stories with dignity.
At Young Strong Mothers Foundation (YSMF), we empower adolescent girls and young mothers to overcome barriers and thrive. Our work focuses on three key areas:
Through interactive sessions, community campaigns, mentoring, and collaboration with local leaders and Ward Education Officers, we ensure communities are informed, engaged, and supportive of girls’ rights.
We collaborate with schools, community leaders, and families to track progress, offer guidance, and remove barriers preventing girls from staying in or returning to school.
Through hands-on training sessions, mentorship, access to materials and small start-up kits, and support in finding markets for products.
At YSMF, we believe lasting change happens when we work together. By partnering with us, you join a movement that empowers adolescent girls and young mothers through education, economic opportunities, and advocacy. Whether you are an individual, organization, or institution, your support helps transform lives, break cycles of poverty, and build a future where every girl has the chance to thrive.
