About Us

Young Strong Mothers Foundation (YSMF) is a nongovernmental, non-profit and nonpartisan organization which started in 2012 as an idea from Ms. Jackie Bomboma and her daughter Rose Mayunga who decided to use their rough stories into a sharp tool to empower, inspire, motivate and advocate for the rights of adolescent girls and young mothers. YSMF was officially registered on 09th February 2015 under 00NGO/00007768 issued by the Ministry of Community Development, Gender and Children.

Our Vision

To become a warm home of hope, inspiration and provider of solutions to vulnerable girls, young mothers and their children within Mainland Tanzania.

Our Mission

To create an environment to address matters facing vulnerable girls, young mothers and their children pertaining to their health, social discrimination, educational, legal and financial needs.

Young mothers living in maximum poverty since they don't have the education or skills to beat the job competition. Also, they have nothing to offer to banks for loans. Let's join hands together by contributing 1 sewing machine which can help them gain skills and become strive women who can care for their children and rebuild their dignity. If we need community development we should NOT leave any women behind no matter what the reason for their fall. We stands strong to advocate and create awareness on Gender-Based Violence and women's rights to the vulnerable teen and young mothers in Tanzania.
OUR IMPACT

YSMF managed to train and connect 5125 young mothers with vocational training center who gained income-generating skills which helped them being employed and others started their own businesses.
COMMUNITY

134 young mothers graduated from vocational institutes and are now enjoying a better and respectful life, earn a decent payments and contributing to community development.
