A
Story of Resilience and Vision
The Young Strong Mothers Foundation (YSMF) was founded by Jackie Bomboma and her daughter Rose Mayunga. Their journey reflects
resilience, determination, and an unwavering belief that no girl should be left
without a second chance opportunity to rebuild their lost dream or to create a
new dream.
Raised through hardships and
challenges, Jackie and Rose experienced firsthand the struggles that many
adolescent girls and young mothers face, limited opportunities, difficult
decisions, and barriers to education. Instead of being defeated by these
obstacles, they transformed their struggles into a mission to create opportunities for others.
Together, they built YSMF into a home
of hope, solution providers and inspiration.
Jackie
Bomboma – Founder & CEO
Jackie is a visionary leader, entrepreneur, and advocate for girls’ education and women’s empowerment. With a strong background in leadership, community development, and business (including livestock and sustainable farming), she combines professionalism with deep compassion for those she serves.
Her resilience and hard work have
enabled her to guide YSMF in identifying, rescuing, and supporting thousands of
girls and teenage mothers. Jackie’s determination to challenge harmful norms
and create safe, empowering opportunities has made her a trusted voice in
community development and gender equality.
Rose
Mayunga – Co-Founder
Rose Mayunga, Jackie’s daughter, is a university student
pursuing Diploma in Nursing and the Founder of The Golden Girl,
an initiative that empowers young women and men at the university, especially
those from single-parent families or challenging backgrounds.
Through The Golden Girl, Rose
provides mentorship, guidance, and encouragement for students to thrive
academically, socially, and emotionally. Her leadership reflects maturity
beyond her years, as she uses her own journey to inspire her peers to dream
bigger and work harder.
As Co-Founder of YSMF, Rose
brings fresh ideas, youth perspective, and passion for health, education, and
gender equality. She embodies resilience and determination, proving that young
women can rise above challenges and become leaders of change.
Together
Jackie and Rose represent two
generations of leadership united by one mission: to rescue, empower, and
transform the lives of girls and young mothers. Their story is one of hope,
resilience, and hard work, a reminder that when challenges are turned into
opportunities, they can ignite lasting change for entire communities.
